Jeffrey "Jeff" Fox Obituary

Jeffrey “Jeff” Lee Fox, 67, of Grafton, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg. Born on January 31, 1958, in Clarksburg, he was the son of the late Edward Layton and Mildred P. Huffman Fox.

Jeff is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Shawne Marie Burke Fox. The two were married on July 17, 2011, and shared more than fourteen wonderful years filled with laughter, companionship, and unwavering devotion to one another.

In addition to his wife, Jeff leaves behind his son, Jeffrey L. Fox and wife Nicole; his daughter, Mandy Tutwiller; and three grandsons who were the absolute light of his life—Hudson Fox, Mason Fox, and Hunter Hayes. He is also survived by his brothers, James Fox (Diane), John Fox (Bernice), and Joe Fox (Jennifer); his sister, Janet Butcher; nieces Lou Ann, and Amy; nephews, Justin, Jamie and Cody; great-niece Ashley; and his sister-in-law, Laura McLain (Stanley), along with brother-in-law, David Burke.

Along with his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Johnna Burke.

Jeff worked at State Electric, City Construction, and Budweiser Distribution Inc., where he formed lasting friendships and was known for his strong work ethic and easygoing spirit. He loved riding motorcycles and talking about them just as much—he could strike up a conversation with anyone who shared the passion. His favorite place to spend time was the White Front, a spot he lovingly called his second home.

Jeff never met a stranger. His friendly nature, quick smile, and willingness to lend an ear meant he walked into a room as a visitor and left as a friend. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends. Jeff embraced every day with a full heart, a lively spirit, and a deep love for the people in his life.

He lived life to the fullest, and his absence leaves a quiet ache in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

To honor Jeff’s wishes he will be cremated. A celebration of his life will be held beginning at 12:00PM (noon) on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the White Front Tavern. Inurnment will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, December 8, 2025 at the West Virginia National Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the US Army Honor Guard and the Taylor County Honor Guard with Chaplain Randy Jennings officiating.  Friends and family are encouraged to meet at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton at 12:30 PM to follow in procession to the cemetery.
