James “Jim” Henry Gordon, 51, of Shinnston, WV, passed away on August 19, 2023. He was born on September 26, 1971, in Canton, OH, son of James Michael and Doris Crousser Gordon. He is survived by his wife Pamela Hammons Gordon, his high school sweetheart, whom were married on April 30, 1990 sharing a beautiful journey together for more than thirty-three years.
James always put others before himself, always willing to go the extra mile to bring joy to those around him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He had a special bond with his family and cherished spending time with them. James loved playing games with his children, especially the game "SQUIRREL." As a grandfather, he would surprise his grandchildren with a tickle spider, bringing laughter and happiness to their lives. His sense of humor was well-known, and he enjoyed joking with his friends at work, from welding rods to air horns. James had a playful side and loved playing pranks with his male children nephews and their friends, including the game "boob."
James will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, humor, and love for his family and friends will forever be cherished in our hearts. May his soul rest in eternal peace
James worked as a Concrete truck driver for various companies, including Builders Service & Supply, May Brothers, Alcon, Central Supply, Cardinal Concrete, and The Wells Group. He took pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic.
Outside of work, James enjoyed fishing, spending quality time with his family, and creating beautiful memories with his wife. He found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, often choosing to spend his leisure time at home or visiting family.
In addition to his wife, and parents, Jim is survived by four children, Destiney Doughty, Molly Crow, James (Jimmer) Gordon, and Chanz Gordon, two sons in-law, Benjamin Doughty, and Kris Crow. James was a proud grandfather to Brycen Carroll, Ashton Carroll, Basil Doughty, Harlem Doughty, Sydney Crow, and Aiden Crow. He was also cherished by his parents, Mike and Doris Elaine Gordon, and his siblings, Jacob Gordon and Becky Gordon. James had a close bond with his in-laws, Larry and Lisa Hammons, Jimmy and Dawn Hammons, Becky Hammons, and Lanty Jr Hammons. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who adored him.
James was preceded in death by his father in-law Lanty Hammons, Sr.
Visitation will be held at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 11:00AM to the time of the funeral service at 1:00PM with Pastor Jim Hammons officiating.
