James Hayden Young, 55 of Grafton formerly of Monticello, AR., passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at his home with his family by his side. He was born March 11,1971 in Monticello, AR, son of the late James Andrew Young and Olean Oletha and Doyle Collins, and is survived by his wife Monica Paige Weaver, whom he married in 2016.
James spent many years working as a pipeline operator, but his heart was never confined to the job—it belonged to the outdoors. Whether he was working the land, hunting, or fishing, he felt most alive under the open sky. More than anything, James cherished time with his family, who were truly the greatest joy of his life. By his side through it all was his beloved dog, Dottie, a loyal and faithful companion who meant the world to him.
James is survived by one daughter, Jaden Young, and two very special friends, Rusty and Bobbie Watkins.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and the oncology team at Mon General for the care they extended to James. A Celebration of Life and dinner will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Thornton School, 48 Irontown Rd, Thornton, WV 26440
