James Junior Newbraugh, 73 of Grafton passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Grafton, November 27,1951, son of the late Lonnie Junior and Ida Mae Rosier Newbraugh. He is survived by his wife Virginia Gandee Newbraugh whom he married January 15, 1972, spending fifty - three years together.
Jim was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps. He was a steel worker and worked hard many years for US Steel in Lorain OH. He was always a hard worker and was always there to help out where needed. Jim was a man that if he was your friend he would be there whenever called. He liked the outdoors and spending time with his friends and family. Jim loved his family and enjoyed all the times they spent together.
Jim is survived by three children, Lonnie Junior Newbraugh lll, James Junior Newbraugh ll, and Michelle Marie Knight; five grandchildren, Brittney Dawn Knight, Kristen Ann Knight,(Zach), Kendra Michelle Knight,(Cody), Jereme James Newbraugh,(Stephanie) and Jordan Ryan Newbraugh,(Kate); great grandchildren, Raelynn, Ryann, Ryder, Paisley, Elena, Bentley, Malachi, Chloe, and Adrian; four brothers, Tom Newbraugh, Richard Newbraugh, William Newbraugh (Patty), and Carl Newbraugh; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by one grandson, Quitan Robert James Newbraugh, two sister-in-laws, Charlotte Newbraugh and Murline Newbraugh.
The family would like thank Jim’s hospice nurses, Vickie Crim and Amber Wright with WV Caring Hospice for the extraordinary care they gave him and for their kindness given to the family during this difficult time.
Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM and on Thursday. February 27, 2025 from 9:00AM until 1:00PM the hour of the funeral with Pastor Rick Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the U. S. Marine Honor Guard and by the Taylor County Honor Guard.
