James May Obituary

James Jacob May, 71 of Grafton formerly of Thornton passed away at Grafton City Hospital on Saturday, February 29, 2020. He was born August 2, 1948 in Monongalia County, WV., son of the late Ellis S. and Mary Virginia Huffman May, He was preceded in death by his wife Isabelle Catherine “Cathy” Leggett Williams May,  January 6, 2019.

 Jim was a member of the Grafton 7th Day Adventist Church. He was retired from the Monongalia County Board of Education., loved to work in his yard from day light to dark, loved to go fishing, was  always ready to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by one son, Joseph “Joey” May, Grafton, one sister, Julia Daff, and husband Gary, Morgantown, one brother, John May and wife Pat, New Jersey, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ellen Rowan, one brother-in-law, James Arnold Rowan.

Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. on  Wednesday March 4,  2020 from 4-8PM and on  Thursday, March 5,  2020 from 9:00AM until the funeral hour at 11:00AM with Pastor Randall Murphy officiating.
