Icie Louise (McCoy) Carroll

lcie Louise (McCoy) Carroll, 93 of Grafton, passed peacefully Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Taylor Health Care Center. She was born in Grafton, WV on March 3, 1932, a daughter of the late William Frank and Selah Hinkle McCoy. 

Louise graduated from Grafton High School in the class of 1950. After his return from service in the US Army, Brady Carroll asked for her hand and they were united in marriage on March 20, 1953. After having three sons, they moved to California where Brady worked for Kaiser Steel and they raised their family. Louise worked for Bethesda Memorial as a dietician until retirement.

In 1992, they returned to Grafton and built a beautiful home. Louise enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, and trips for ice cream. She was committed to her membership at the Blueville Church of the Nazarene where she contributed her support for many years. She cherished the time that she spent in support of the church. Over the years, Louise and Brady welcomed many visitors and family members into their Haymond Road home. Louise and Brady enjoyed their time together in Grafton until his passing after 63 years of marriage.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald Lee Carroll, and Charles (Ginny) Scott Carroll, daughter-in-law, Sheryl Carroll, grandchildren, Rebekah (Tina) Knutson, Randy Carroll, Heather (Dan) Freitas, and Frank (Ashley) Carroll, two great-grandchildren, Jack Freitas and Luke Freitas, three brothers, Norman McCoy, James (June) McCoy, and Richard (Dorothy) McCoy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Brady Lee Carroll on May 19, 2016. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Allen Carroll, two brothers, William McCoy and Frank McCoy, and one sister, Mary Ellen Knight, daughter-in-law Betty (Henne) Carroll, granddaughter Joy Ann Carroll, and grandson Ronald Lee Carroll.

Family and friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGrew Ave., Grafton on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM and on Thursday March 13, 2025 from 9:00AM until 10:00AM the hour of the funeral with Rev. Robert Oakley officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
