Howard Lee Beckner

Howard Lee Beckner, 90 of Harmony Grove passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Grafton City Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Cairo, WV on November 17, 1927, son of the late Thomas S. and Helen Naomi Nutter Beckner. He is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Shirley Currey Beckner, they were married July 22, 1967.

Howard was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Hornor Brothers Engineers as a Construction Inspector. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and camping. He especially loved being with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Sharon Sue Beckner, James L. Beckner and wife Michelle, all of Harmony Grove, JoAnn Jones, Morgantown, Joyce Beckner, Parkersburg, D.L. Beckner and wife Elsa, Munford, TN; seven grandchildren, Chloe Beckner, Jacob Beckner, Stephen Jones, Andy Jones, Ty Beckner, Ryan Beckner, Christopher Beckner; one brother, Paul Beckner and wife Bessie, Walker, WV; one sister, Mary Long, Elizabeth, WV.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert Beckner and Douglas Beckner.

Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 4-8PM and on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 9:00AM until the funeral hour at 11:00AM with Lay Minister, Jimmy Arnold officiating.
