Homer "Butch" Vaughn Austin, 79 of Grafton, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born June 15, 1943 in Grafton, son of the late Richard Lawrence Austin and Mary Roy Austin Lowe. Butch is survived by his loving wife, Linda Lu Tyler Austin, whom he married June 2, 1964 spending over fifty-eight years together.
Butch worked at the Grafton VFW for over twenty years and the Grafton Walmart for fifteen years. He was a Christian and member of the Parkview Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed reading and playing solitaire. He loved his church family and his pride and joy was his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Butch is survived by two children, Terry Vaughn Austin, Sr. (Teresa), Keith Allen Austin (Amanda); four grandchildren, Terry “Homer” Austin ll, Tyler Lee Austin, Jax V. Austin, and Lela Jane Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by two sisters, Beulah McCue and Loretta Jean Sandsbury; one brother, Richard “Bub” Austin.
Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM and on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 9:00AM until the funeral hour at 11:00AM with Pastor Mike Delligatti officiating.
