Helen "Lucy" Louise (Bailey) Saltis

Helen “Lucy” Louise Saltis, 72 of Flemington, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Lucy was born December 13, 1952 in Clarksburg, daughter of late Thomas Filmore and Helen Elizabeth Spencer Bailey.  Lucy is survived by her husband Joseph Saltis whom she married on April 1970, spending more than fifty-four years together.

 Lucy worked many years as a waitress at Twin Oaks Restaurant and as clerk at the Ace Hardware Department Store. She was good at her work because she had the ability to talk to anyone as if she knew them forever. Lucy was all about family, she cooked every Sunday to have them all together. She liked to have “get togethers” for the family and friends, cooking, joking around and having a good time. Lucy loved going camping at Canaan Valley, sitting around the campfire while telling stories and just being in the outdoors. She loved her family and treasured the time she spent with each of them.

Lucy is survived by three children, Joseph Patrick Saltis (Melissa), Randy Alan Saltis (Michele), and Brian Anthony Saltis (Tara); eight grandchildren, Marissa, Austin, Kylie, Kaitlyn, Kacie, Chloe, Corey and Hunter; three sisters, Virginia Dalton (Donald), Gerladine  Workmaster, and Janet Stackpole (Gary); two brothers, Ralph Bailey (Marlene), and Thomas Bailey (Joyce); several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by one sister Rosella Thomas.
