Helen Louise Cole

Helen Louise Cole, 80 of Grafton entered into the gates of heaven with her loving husband Ronnie greeting her on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Mon General Hospital, Morgantown.

She was born in Grafton, May 25, 1944 daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Madge Smith Shelton. Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ronald L. Cole, February 23, 2017.

Helen was a graduate of Grafton High School, Class of 1962. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to many. She worked many years as an operator at the C&P Telephone Company and was a homemaker. Helen was a devout Christian and faithful member of the First Baptist Church.  She held the position as deacon, worked with the kitchen crew and assisted where ever she could, always offering a helping hand in the church and community. Helen was a good cook and enjoyed sharing her goodies with her friends and family. She had the unique talent of making people smile, taking care of older individuals, enjoyed talking on the phone and visiting with her friends and family.

Helen is survived by three sons, Ronald Keith Cole (Jodi) Greencastle PA, Terry Lynn Cole (Jennifer) Bridgeport, and William Dennis Duffy (Mylene) Austin, TX.; seven grandchildren, Lauren Reed Cole, Zachary Kenneth Cole, Aly Duffy, Mya Duffy, Jordan Elizabeth Cole, and Cameron Michael Cole; one brother, Eddie Shelton (Dottie) Grafton.

In addition to Helen’s parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, John Michael Cole; one grandson, Sam Duffy; four brothers, John Shelton, Joe Shelton, Art Shelton, L.D. Shelton; two sisters, Ann Rhoden, and Nancy Duffy.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM and she will lie in state at the First Baptist Church, 2034 Webster Pike, 119 South,  Grafton,  Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 9:00AM until noon 12:00PM the hour of the funeral with Pastor Orville Wright officiating.
