Harry Joseph Beaty

Harry Joseph Beaty, 90 of Grafton passed away at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Wednesday, December 28, 2022 with his family by his side.  He was born in Fairmont on November 24, 1932, son of the late John Newton and Sara Nichols Beaty, Harry is survived by his wife Pauline “Polly” Holloway Beaty whom he married April 26, 1958 spending over sixty- four years together.

Harry was a graduate of ST Mary’s High School, and served in the US Army. He worked for the C&P telephone company and Verizon phone company where he retired after thirty plus years. Harry was a member of the St Augustine Catholic Church where he served as an usher and helped with the famous doughnut sales held by the Knights of Columbus. He was a supporter of the Grafton Bearcats where he would work on the chain gang whenever he could. Harry liked to golf and do woodworking as a pastime. Harry enjoyed people and spending time with his family and friends especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, he will be greatly missed by each of them and all who knew him.

Harry is survived by one daughter, Doris Newcome (Joe), one son Joseph Beaty (Cassandra), four grandchildren, Jay Newcome (Corinne), Brandon Beaty (Sara), Tyler Beaty (Chelsea), Jared Beaty (Whitney), nine great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Jennah, Johnna, Noah, Lucas, Kayden, Jaydence, Kyser, and Mason, one sister-in-law Naomi Beaty.

In addition to his parents, Harry is preceded in death by one brother, John N. Beaty ll.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM and on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 9:00AM until 10:00AM the hour of the funeral with the Father Babu Joseph officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery with full military honors given by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the US Army Camp Dawson.
