Freda Darlene Shingleton

Freda Darlene Shingleton 65, of Grafton passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She was born in Lumberport on February 21,1959, daughter of the late Franklin Leonard and Thelma Pauline Nuzum Shaw, Sr. Freda is survived by her husband, John Clark Shingleton, they were married August 4, 1999, spending more than twenty-four years together.

Freda worked at the Taylor County Senior Citizens as a Home Health Care Worker with over thirty-four years of service. She enjoyed working in the garden and sharing the produce from it. Freda liked to volunteer at the Food Pantry whenever she had some spare time. She loved the time she spent with her friends and family especially her grandchildren.

Freda is survived by one son, Joseph Brian Mitchell; one daughter-in-law, Melissa Mayle; three grandchildren, Summer, Karla, and Ashton; two great granddaughters, Lillian and Aurora; one sister, Wanda Fuller; two brothers, Boyd Shaw and Roger Shaw; two step-sons, John Shingleton and Robert Shingleton; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Freda was preceded in death by one son, Paul Timothy Mitchel; one granddaughter, Hope Shingleton, three sisters, Betty Lewis, Vera Shaw, and Geneva Headley; two brothers, Leonard Shaw, Jr. and George Shaw.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 3PM to 6:30PM the hour of the funeral. with Lay Minister, Carl Bartlett officiating.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to her Care Fund on her memorial page.
