Frances Lucille Travis, 91 of Thornton ,Went To Meet The Lord, on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the home of her nephew and niece, James and Rose Gragg, Thornton. She was born in Preston County, January 1, 1929, daughter of the late Dayton and Freda Fike Bolyard. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Melvin Travis , November 25, 2016.
She graduated from Fellowsville High School , Class of 1948, She was a lifelong member of the Thornton United Methodist Church, enjoyed being in the choir, and was always ready to help in any way at the church, she worked at the Shirt Factory, loved to sew, working in her flowers, cooking, and being involved with the 4-H Club.
Lucille is survived by one sister, Leona Murray, Grafton, one special nephew and wife, Jim Gragg and wife Rose, Thornton, two nephews, Harold Wayne Travis, Vienna, Jack Travis and wife Karen, West Union, one niece, Mary Shipp, Thornton, two great nephews, Billy Gragg and wife Heather, Scott Gragg, one great niece, Jenifer Detamore, and fiance’ Brody Mayle, eleven great great nephews and niece Adien Gragg, Garrett Gragg, Hannah Gragg, Evangeline Gragg, William Gragg, Katelyn Detamore, and Hunter Detamore and many cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded death by five sisters, Irene Miller, Madeline Shahan, Faye Sigley, Janet Sigley, Joyce Bolner, six brothers, Hayward Bolyard, Ronald Bolyard, Burdine Bolyard, Roy Bolyard, Denzil Bolyard, Vance Bolyard, and Melvin Bolyard,
The family would like to thank WV Caring “Hospice” for all their kindness to Lucille. Especially her three care givers, Vickie, Stephanie and Amber.
Friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. Grafton, Friday, January 24, 2020 from 3-7PM.and on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 9-11 AM. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Bartlett Funeral Home with Rev. Janet Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow at Woodsdale Memorial Park.
