Forrest Ray Bowman,94, of Grafton passed away, Monday, October 19, 2020 at Mon General Hospital. He was born in Colebank, WV September 7, 1926, son of the late Harry Deward and Virgie L. Ball Bowman. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Tydings Bowman on October 21, 1995.
Ray was a twenty-one-year veteran of US Marine Corps and retired from International Harvest Equipment as a diesel mechanic. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in the garden. He liked to work on cars and trucks as a hobby and relaxed while reading a good book.
Ray is survived by two daughters, Kathy Hoskins (Kevin), Purcellville, VA, and Barbara Joy(ShaRon) Stafford,VA, three grandchildren, Michelle Soto, Nicholas Soto, Erinn Joy , two great grandchildren, Mason Soto and Ethan Soto, two sisters, Carol Hamilton (Wesley) Grafton, Shirley Pitcher, Morgantown, one brother, Ted Bowman (Ida) Grafton, numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Bowman, Bob Bowman, and Buck Bowman.
Graveside Services will be held at the WV. National Cemetery, Monday, October 26, 2020 at 12:00 Noon, with full Military rites to be accorded by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the US Marine Corp, with proper distancing and face mask required.
