Elsie Rose Martin

Elsie Rose Martin, 82, of Grafton, passed peacefully at her home on September 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on February 5, 1943, in Grafton, the cherished daughter of the late Moses Palmer and Opal Canfield Wolfe.

Elsie’s life was defined by her deep love for her family. She poured her heart into her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. A woman of quiet strength and grace, she found joy in the simple moments—sitting on her porch, listening to the songs of the birds, and embracing the peace of the day. Her faith was a guiding light, and she was a devoted member of the New Testament Fellowship Church.

She leaves behind her precious granddaughter, Michelle Lynn Reider and husband Brian; her grandson, Stephen Simons; and two great-granddaughters, Aaliyah Michelle Reider and Braelynn Michayla, who will forever carry her love in their hearts.

Elsie is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Larry William Martin; her daughter, Linda Michelle Simons; her grandson, Michael Simons; her sister, Anita Arthur; and her brothers, Alan Arthur and Art Arthur.

In keeping with her wishes, Elsie was cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00PM, Thursday, October 9, 2025 at the New Testament Fellowship Church, 1100 West Main St. Grafton with Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating, a time when family and friends will come together to share memories, honor her legacy, and celebrate a life so beautifully lived. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
