Dorothy Jean Drainer Wildey, 95 of Vero Beach, FL, (formerly of Grafton) passed away Friday, August 9, 2024 at Acts Retirement-Indian River Estates, Vero Beach FL. She was born in Clarksburg, September 13, 1928, daughter of the late Roy Z. and Audrey Manley Burnside. Dorothy is preceded in death by her first husband, Nathan A. “Duke” Drainer and her second husband, Lee Wildey.
Dorothy was a graduate of Grafton High School, Class of 1946, she worked for many years as a clerk at the Blueville Bank of Grafton, and for the Taylor County Assessor’s office. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of a bowling league at the Grafton Lanes Bowling Alley. Dorothy attended the EUB Church of Grafton and the Blueville United Methodist Church. Dorothy was an active member in the communities she lived in though out her life. She loved life and sharing her time with friends and family making memories where ever she traveled.
Dorothy is survived by two children, Jenny Drainer, and Charles “Chuck” Drainer (Diane); and one grandson, Chad Drainer (Sabrina); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands Dorothy is preceded in death by five sisters, Pat Atkins, Phyllis Keith, Ellen Tingler, Mary Alice Deakins, and Ada Bell.
A graveside service with inurnment will be held at Woodsdale Memorial Park at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 13, 2024 with Pastor Orville Wright officiating. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.bartlettfuneralhomewv.com Bartlett Funeral Home is honored to serve the Widely family.
