Dorothy Jane (Abel) Collins

Dorothy Jane (Abel) Collins, 95 of Grafton, WV, went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born April 17, 1931 in Grafton, WV daughter of the late Lloyd and Inez Masters Abel, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Carl R. Collins January 20, 1998.

Dorothy worked at the Grafton and the Morgantown Shirt Factories, and at the baby world, until she retired in 1995. Dorothy went on to work for in home healthcare and senior center, and was a volunteer for the Grafton City Hospital Aux., She was a member of the Grafton Baptist Church, where she also ran the nursery for 35 years.

Dorothy is survived by seven children, David Collins (Peggy), Sharon Zecco (Don), Jeff Collins (Patrice), Teresa Mayle, John Collins (Tammy), Lisa Wilt, Jeannie Bellair (Joe), fifteen grandchildren, twenty- one great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one brother, Wayne Abel, one sister, Delores (Jeannie) McDaniel.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by two brothers, William Abel, James Abel, one sister Lois Biddle.
