Dessie Jane Jenkins

Dessie Jane Jenkins,65 of Thornton passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Grafton City Hospital. She was born December 17, 1958, in Philippi, daughter of the late Robert and Ginny Starky. Dessie was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Lee Jenkins, Sr. June 2012.

Dessie was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and a great grandmother. She liked being in the outdoors working in the garden and with her flowers.  Dessie enjoyed doing crafts, sharing them with her family and friends. She was a real people person while spending time talking and sharing memories with all who knew her. Dessie loved her family all the time she spent with each of them making precious memories.

Dessie is survived by one daughter, Ellnor Jane “Liz” Poe (Mike); two sons, Charlie DeWayne Jenkins (Brittany), and Gary Lee Jenkins, JR.; eleven grandchildren, Hayden, Hunter, Ryder, Rycen, Brittany, Laci, Timothy, Kerrie, Jayden, Raven and Autumn; three great grandchildren, Kohen, Lily, Raelynn; two sisters, IvaLou, and Delores; four brothers, Mark, Jack, Kenneth, and Donald.

In addition to her parents, and husband Dessie was preceded death by one son, Robert Gene Jenkins
