David Lee Rager, 80 of Grafton passed on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Grafton City Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born in Grafton, July 28, 1944, son of the late Fielden “Fred” Richard and Sarah Virginia Pyles Rager. He is survived by his wife, Linda Gordon Rager whom he married March 13, 1965, spending sixty years together.
David worked at the Grafton Apparel Manufacturing Company (Shirt Factory) for over thirty years. He was a mechanic by trade, he could work on and fix about anything, he would fix sewing machines of all kinds. David took pride in his work and was always proud of the job when done. David was a member of the local VFW #3081 and the American Legion. He liked the outdoors, going fishing in his favorite spots, hunting, watching and feeding birds. He traveled to many rodeo’s and liked riding horses. David had an out-going personality and liked being with people telling stories or discussing politics. He liked watching Judge Judy and RFD TV. David loved being with is family and enjoyed the time he spent with each of them.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by one son David “Buck” Rager (Lisa), one granddaughter, Chelsey Rager, three grandson, Philip Rager, Terry Homer Austin, Tyler Austin, (Pao),, one son-in-law Terry Vaughn Austin, Sr., three sisters, Frances Colebank, Marlyn Sinnett, Emma Taylor; and one brother, Phil Rager (Tina); several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by, one daughter, Teresa Austin, Feburary,18, 2025; and one brother, Rich Rager.
Family and friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. conducted Grafton, on Monday, February 24, 2025 from 3:00 PM until 7PM, and on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 9:00AM until 11:00AM the hour of the funeral, with Pastor Rick Kerns officiating. Interment will follow at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Webster.
