David Nelson Mitter

David Nelson Mitter, 74 of Morgantown passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021. He was born in Preston County on March 20, 1947, son of the late Lawrence and Annie Bolyard Mitter.  David was preceded in death by his wife Glenda Mitter in 2007.

David was a veteran of the US Army, and was a coal miner for many years. He loved people and the outdoors, he enjoyed going fishing and liked to cook but most of all he liked to eat. David enjoyed spending time being with his family and friends.

David is survived by a brother William “Bill” Mitter of Morgantown, nieces and nephews Kimberly Cole and husband Donald, William Mitter Jr., Andrew Mitter Jr., Benny Mitter, Kathy McAfee and Donna Mills.

In addition to his parents and wife David is preceded in death by a brother Andrew Leroy Mitter Sr., and a niece Terry Moore.  

 A graveside side service will be held  at 11:00 AM,Friday September 3, 2021 at the West Virginia National Cemetery. with Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating.
