David Lester Rogers

David Lester Rogers, 82 of Grafton passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025 in Clarksburg. He was born in Grafton, WV., November 1, 1942, son of the late Robert “Bob” and Martha Grace Dougherty Rogers. David was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Elizabeth Crall Rogers, March 13, 2022.

David was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a dedicated member of Trinity United Methodist Church and worked for many years at the Department of Corrections in Pruntytown, retiring from there. Known for his gift of conversation, David always had a story to share and never met a stranger. He enjoyed traveling, collecting coins, and spending time tinkering with his tools while fixing things. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family and friends.

David is survived by one son, Greg Rogers; one granddaughter, Corina Groves (Katelyn); one sister, Bobbie Jean Colburn; one, niece and nephew.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home 202 McGraw Ave. Grafton on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM and on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 9:00AM until 11:00AM the hour of the funeral with Pastor Terry Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at Woodsdale Memorial Park with full Military Honors accorded by the US Army Camp Dawson Guard and the Preston County Honor Guard.
