Christopher "Chris" Allen Shroyer, 17, of Thornton, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born September 18, 2005 in Kingwood, son of Amanda Sapp Deavers, Howesville and Christopher Lee Shroyer and step-mother, Lisa Moyer, Thornton.
Chris was a Senior at Grafton High School. He worked at Jennings Excavating Inc. Chris enjoyed hunting, fishing, drinking Mountain Dew, listening to music, racing and driving anything with wheels. Chris had a great work ethic and would help anyone and always made them laugh.
In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by two sisters, Nevaeha “Vaya” Deavers and fiancé Jonathan Corder, Shaylan “Yaya” Miller and husband, Jacob “Jake” Miller; one brother, Gage “Gump” Michael Shroyer; two nephews, Brentlen and Calix Joseph Christopher; two nieces, Aurora and Nova; two step brothers, Jessie Moyer and Andrew Moyer; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Loretta Sapp; and numerous, aunts, uncles, and cousins; also his faithful friend and four-legged companion, “Niko”.
Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George W. Shroyer and Margaret Frances Gerkins; cousins, Michael Hovatter and William Bishop; uncle, Scott Bishop.
Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, Grafton, on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 12:00 Noon- 5:00 PM and on Monday, September 18, 2023 from 9:0 0AM until the time of the funeral at 11:00 AM with Pastor Kelly Gamble officiating.
