Chester Earl DeBerry

Chester Earl DeBerry, 80 of Fairmont, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 while at the Manchin Assisted Living Facility in Bridgeport. He was born December 22, 1943 in Hazelton, son of the late Sanford and Rachael Marie Reckart DeBerry.

Chester served in the United States Army. He was a retired coal miner for Consolidated Coal Company at Blacksville Number 2 mines. He was a faithful member at Fellowship Baptist Church in Fairmont, WV.  Chester was a humble man and a saint.

Chester is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Joanne White DeBerry; a daughter, Denise Joanne DeBerry Bailey (husband Mark), a son, Chester Stacey DeBerry; grandchildren, Matthew Alan Cavrich, Joshua Earl Moreland, Toby Glenn Moreland, Nina Mae Moreland; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Chester is preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Lou DeBerry Anderson; his granddaughter, Courtney Joanne Cavrich; one brother, Stanley Ray DeBerry; three sisters, Barbara Jean Feather, Viola Lucille Dennis, Opal Marie Friend-Miller.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM and on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 9AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00AM with William Stutler officiating.
