Charlotte Eloise Duckworth

Charlotte Eloise Duckworth, 84 of Grafton formerly of Reedsville, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Grafton City Hospital, Grafton, with her loving family by her side as they always were. She was born April 7, 1941 in Grafton, WV., daughter of the late Lafayette Earl and Densie Virginia Smallwood Peters.

Charlotte spent many years serving her community as a waitress in local restaurants, a role she cherished because it kept her close to the people she loved. She had a gift for making others feel welcome, and she poured that same warmth into the many community activities she enjoyed being part of.

Nothing brought her more joy than listening to her children sing, often joining in with a smile that could light up any room. She would proudly say that her greatest accomplishment in life was being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother. Her family was her heart.

Charlotte treasured every family gathering, savoring the laughter, the stories, and the time spent together. Those moments became memories she held dear, and she made sure each person knew how deeply they were loved.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, carrying their legacy forward with grace, strength, and unwavering love.

Charlotte is survived by six children, Sherri Sibley, Christine Ward (Jody), Greg Duckworth (Rhonda), Brian Duckworth (Tina), Wendy Adams (Mike), and Traci White (Steve); several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by, Allen Junior Duckworth the father of her children; one son, Dennis Keith Duckworth; four sisters, Loretta Shingleton, Delores Coy, Freda Peters, and Norma Morrison.

The family would like to Thank the Taylor Health Care Center, Grafton City Hospital 3rd floor nurses and aides, Dr David Bender, Tom Stevens and WV Caring Hospice for the great care they gave to Charlotte.
