Charles "Ed" Miller Obituary

Charles Edward Miller, 75 of Grafton passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Grafton City Hospital. He was born February 21, 1947 in Grafton, son of the late Charles Alonzo and Norma Robinson Miller, Ed is survived by his wife of 26 years, the love of his life, (Ginger) Virginia Lee Austin Miller, they were married March 15, 1996. Also, survived by his pride and joy, CoCo Chanel.

He graduated from Grafton High School Class of 1966. Ed served in the United States Army achieving the Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Metal, Army Service Ribbon, Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, the Expert Badge Rifle and Pistol Bar and he kicked ass. He was a correctional officer for the Department of Corrections for many years. Ed was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3081. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and going camping. Ed attended the Full Gospel Worship Center. He was a man of the Lord and his faith is what he counted on through-out his life. He loved the time spent with his friends and family and will be greatly missed by each of them.

He is survived by six children, Samantha G. Taylor (T.C.) Marlene E. Jackson (Raymond), Charlene Williamson (Charles), Tabatha A. Miller, Kim Soccorsi, James Soccorsi, eleven grandchildren, four great grandsons, two brothers, Michael J. Miller, and Lon W. Miller, and mother-in-law, Patricia Moats.

In addition to his parents Ed was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ed Moats, two grandsons, Andrew Jefferson and Evan Costello.

In honor of Ed’s wishes he was cremated. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Monday, April 18, 2022 at the West Virginia National Cemetery with Pastor Tim Maxwell officiating and full military honors will be rendered by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the United States Army from Camp Dawson.
