Charles "Chuck" Jeffries Obituary

Charles “Chuck” V. Jeffries, 71 of Grafton passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Mon General Hospital, Morgantown. Chuck was born January 21, 1949 in Barberton, OH, son of the late Fred Ellis Thompson and C. “June” Jeffries Shoemaker. He was married to the love of his life, Paula Karol Kinter Jeffries on May 7, 1977, spending forty-three wonderful years together.

He graduated from Saint Augustine High School, Class of 1966. Chuck served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked for Chessie System and CSX railroad as an engineer. He served as a Pastor for over thirty-nine years and most recently was the current Pastor at the New Season Assembly of God in Grafton. He held the honor as the chaplain for the Grafton City Police Department and the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office. Chuck loved serving the Lord and enjoyed reading and taking long walks. He considered his family and friends as his Blessings, and loved all the time he spent with them making special memories.

In addition to his wife, Chuck is survived four children, Jeff Tansill, Grafton, Brigitte Tansill, Davenport, FL, Gina Tansill, Davenport, FL, Charles Jeffries II and wife Amber, Marysville, CA; nine grandchildren, Kylee Dixon, Carter Joseph Dixon, Ryan Dixon, Liam Dixon, Karina Cummings and Edan, Andrea Siriano and Jose’ Rojas, Katherine Elizabeth Siriano, Cora June Jeffries, and Braidyn Jeffries; one sister, Susie Sapp and Jack, Grafton, sister-in-law, Tonia Shoemaker, Keyser; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, David Alan Shoemaker in 2016.  

Friends may call Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. on Sunday January 24, 2021 from 12 Noon-6PM, and on Monday January 25, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the hour of the funeral with Pastor Ric Lewellen officiating with proper distancing and face mask required. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the United States Air Force Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Taylor County Color Guard, PO Box 482, Grafton, WV 26354. VFW Post.
