Carroll Gene Miller, 89, of West Hill passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Taylor Health Care Center. He was born May 28, 1935 in Prenter, WV., Boone County, son of the late, Clark and Beatrice Taylor Miller. Gene was a builder and planner who worked at several different construction companies and retired from Gibbins and Grabill Company in Canton, OH. Gene was a proud father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his family and he thought of them as his greatest joy and blessing.
The family wants to Thank Sarah Mayle, granddaughter for going above and beyond giving extra love, time, care, and support to pap. She was an angel in disguise helping Gene through some difficult times and all of us at the same time. Her heart is made of gold, filled with love and always giving of herself. She is greatly appreciated.
Gene is survived by four children, Curt Miller (Tonia), Sherry Sherron (Charles), Karen Jodon (George), Stephen “Steve” Miller (Rebecca); one daughter-in-law, Beth Miller; one son-in-law, Lonnie Mayle; three step children, Missy Hale, Danette Beaver (Don) and Lance Calafactor; thirty-five grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren one sister-in-law, Elaine Miller, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, and his 1st wife Gene was preceded in death by one son, Rick Miller; one daughter, Donna Mayle; one granddaughter, Jami Mayle, two brothers, Don Miller, and Allen Miller, one sister-in-law, Jeannie Miller. The family would like to express a special thank you to those that’s taken the greatest care of “Pap” throughout the years. We couldn’t have made it without Dr. Bender, TVTCC/GCH staff, TCEMS, Amedisy Hospice and last but definitely not least his Taylor Health Care Family.
