Cara Dawn Roach 89, of Grafton passed away on Monday August 26, 2024 at Grafton City Hospital with family by her side. She was born on October 30, 1934 in Newburg, daughter of the late Henry Isaac and Lillian Mildred McDaniel Criss. Cara was preceded in death by her husband Fred L. Roach on December 24, 2010.
Cara was homemaker and a seamstress, sewing was a pastime that she enjoyed sharing with her family. She loved cooking, having family get togethers, sharing time and memories while together. She was a faithful member of the Beulah Baptist Church. Cara loved the time she spent with her family especially her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Cara is survived by seven daughters, Donna Bolyard (David), Pam Thorn (Jim), Janice DeVault (Steve), Charlotte Pisino (Rick), Tammy Freeze (Karl), Linda Beall (Wayne), all of Grafton, and Cara Sue Smith, (Robbie) Little Rock, Ark.; nineteen grandchildren; thirty one great grandchildren; and thirteen great great grandchildren; one brother Roger Criss (Sue), brother in-law, Stanley Roach (Betty); one sister in-law, Jeanette Easter (Ronnie); several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Cara is preceded in death by two granddaughters, Brandy Lee DeVault and Kassandra “Kassie” Freeze; three brothers, Richard Criss, Denzil Criss, and Blair Criss; one sister, Barbara “Bobbie” Pratt.
Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM and on Sunday, September 1, 2024 from 1:00PM until 2:00PM the hour of the funeral with her brother in-law, Rev Stanley Roach officiating. Interment will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery 9:00AM on Monday, September 2, 2024.
