Calvin “Ross” Johnson, 80 of Grafton (Knottsville Community) passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born at home in Knottsville on September 5, 1941, son of the late Holly Albert Johnson and Maxine Virginia Moore Johnson. Calvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosemary Nines; one grandson, Aaron Ross Johnson. Calvin is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Barbara Johnson; two sons, Thomas Ross Johnson and Sherry, Thornton, Timothy Allen Johnson, Grafton; granddaughters, Lauren Holly (Johnson) Mayle and Dalton, Grafton, Morgan Johnson, Emma Johnson, Lelia F Johnson, all of Grafton; grandson, Ellington P Johnson, Grafton and special partner in crime, Bob Devers. Calvin retired from A&P as a meat cutter and farmed his entire life in Knottsville. His hobbies included woodworking, cabinet making, photography, gardening, and spending as much time as he could with his beloved grandchildren. He was instrumental in starting the Thornton Water Board and was volunteer Fireman with the Thornton VFD in his earlier days. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and had held several offices over the years. Family and friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 1-5PM. Funeral will be held at the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 1:00PM. with Pastor Judy Flynn officiating. He will lie in repose one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
