Brenda Jane Day

Brenda Jane Day, 76 years of age passed away at home on December 6, 2023. She was born on January 16, 1947 in Duxbury, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Louis Hazard and Patricia Oxner Hazard. Brenda is survived by her husband, Leslie J. (Joe) Day, step daughter, Donna Day and step son, Leslie J. (Joe) Day Jr. and grandson, Jesse James Leiffer and sister Gail Hazard.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Deborah A. Day and Karen Hatch. 

Brenda was a loving and talented person who enjoyed painting pictures of southwest scenes, playing golf, mahjong and wood carving. She was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 3081. She served as an Auxiliary Historian. She was actively involved in all auxiliary programs and worked tirelessly for our veterans. She was an artist and generous in sharing her works with friends. Her friends will always treasure the wooden angels and painted stones she shared with them.

Honoring Brenda’s wishes there will be no public services. The family appreciates all the kindness shown to them during their time of loss.

As you read this poem keep Brenda in your thoughts; Beyond the Gateway, there is an open gate at the end of the road, through which each must go alone, and there, in a light we cannot see, our Father claims his own. Beyond the gate, your loved one finds happiness and rest and there is comfort in the thought that a loving God knows the best. May God, who calls our dear loved ones home and grants them peace and rest, give you the strength and faith to say that He indeed knows best.
