Bessie Alice Poling, 87 of Pennsboro, formerly of Fellowsville, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Bridgeport Health Care, Bridgeport. She was born at Birds Creek, WV. On April 17,1937, daughter of the late Albert Forrest and Ruby Haskiell Pyles, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Poling.
Bessie graduated from Newburg High School, Class of 1955. She worked many years along with her husband at the Poling Sunoco in Fellowsille that they owned and operated. Bessie loved working in her garden and with her flowers. She enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and doing word search puzzles. Bessie was a strong woman who stood by her faith throughout her life. She held a kind heart always enjoying the time she spent with her friends, family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bessie is survived by four children, Karen Myers, Grafton, James Poling (Sandy) Fellowsville, Alice Stewart (Kenny) Bridgeport, Charles Poling (Brenda); nine grandchildren, Misty (Jason), Matthew (Sabrena), Timothy (Kelly), Cassie (John), Teresa, Dustin (Stephanie), Amanda (DJ), Becky, and Kim (Eddie); eleven great grandchildren, Jared, Amber, Ava, Ethan, McKenzie, Kendall, Harper, Cameron, Hunter, Carly, and Aleda; one great great grandbaby on the way; five step grandchildren, Amy, Chastidy, Ashley, Nichole, and Ruth; several step great grandchildren; one special nephew, Rickey Chidester; several nieces, nephews; one sister, Pauline Shafferman; and one brother, Arnold Pyles .
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Janice Poling and Donald Poling; one sister, Virginia Dewitt; three brothers, Harold Pyles, John Pyles, and Robert Pyles; one son-in-law, Tim Myers and one daughter-in-law, Lucy Poling.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 3:00 PM. To 8:00PM. And on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 9:00AM until the time of the funeral at 11:00AM with Pastor Michael Delligatti officiating. Interment will follow at Mt.
