Bernard Darrell “Mouse” Loughry, 92, of Moatsville, WV., passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born June 14, 1933 in Tunnelton, WV, son of the late Dennis Freeman and Effie Sell Loughry. His wife Phyllis Furgerson Loughry, preceded him in death January 1, 2015.
Mouse graduated from Masontown High School with the Class of 1951. A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he honorably served his country and was awarded both the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. Mouse enjoyed working on the farm, mowing grass, and tinkering with just about anything to keep it running. He took great pride in his garden and loved sharing his harvest with others. Above all, he cherished his family and valued every moment spent with them.
Mouse is survived by two daughters, Susan Frey (Mike), and Geraldine Retherford (Steve); six grandchildren, Bryan Frey, Nicole Findley (Chris), Heather Frey (John), Kellie Schneider, Steven Retherford, and Sabrina House (Buddy); and several great grandchildren; two special nieces, Debbie and Marty.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mouse was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
