Bernard Joseph Downey

Bernard Joseph Downey, 74 of Camden, WV, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 in Lakin State Hospital Nursing Home, West Columbia, WV. He was born May 14, 1951 in Washington, DC., son of the late Edward King and Dorothy Merle Caylor Downey.

Bernard was a kind-hearted gentleman, always greeting others with a genuine smile. He loved spending time outdoors, especially sitting on the porch watching for hummingbirds at the feeders. In his quiet moments, he enjoyed watching classic westerns and game shows, his favorite pastimes.

Bernard is survived by one sister, Dorothy Downey (Frank Altomore) of Camden.
