Barbara June (Corder) Wolverton

Barbara June Wolverton, 82, of Grafton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Grafton City Hospital. She was born on October 6, 1943, in Philippi, West Virginia, a daughter of the late James B. and Claribel Skidmore Corder.

June shared more than fifty-five loving years of marriage with her devoted husband, Jack L. Wolverton, whom she married on June 25, 1970. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

A graduate of Philippi High School, June proudly served her community as a member of the Taylor County Emergency Squad a dispatcher for Grafton City Police, and owned and worked for Merry Maid Cleaning. She was a woman of many simple joys — she loved sewing, spending time thrift shopping with her friends, and had a special talent for always finding little treasures along the way. June also enjoyed motorcycle rides with her husband, taking in the scenery and visiting new places together, moments she truly treasured She never knew a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone at any time.

Above all, June’s greatest joy was her family. She deeply loved the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and friends, creating memories that will be held close in their hearts forever. Her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her.

June is survived by her loving husband, Jack L. Wolverton; two sons, Robert G. “Chip” Wolverton (Beverly) and Jack L. Wolverton II (Christy); two grandsons, Gabe Wolverton (Haley) and Gavin Wolverton; and one granddaughter, Jill Glenn (Chris); one brother, Jimmy Corder; two special friends, Penny Reel and Jane Jackson; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her son, Jamie Wolverton, three sisters, Juanita Hannigan, Joan Tait, and Gale Sanders; three brothers, Glen Corder, Pete Corder and Dick Corder; one sister in-law, Dorothy Corder; mother in-law, Ruth Blake; and father in-law and mother in-law, Bill and Naomi Wolverton.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM the hour of the funeral with Pastor David Harris officiating.
