Barbara Louise (Newcome) Boykie

Barbara Louise Boykie, 77, of Elkins, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Cortland Acres Nursing Home in Thomas, WV. Born in Grafton on May 17, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Chester L. and Helen Hoover Newcome.

Barbara was a proud graduate of Grafton High School, Class of 1966. She dedicated many years of her life as an Accountant for the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation, serving with quiet commitment and a deep sense of purpose. Barbara found joy in life’s simple comforts—sitting on the porch watching the world move around her, spending time lost in a good book, or relaxing with her favorite television shows. These peaceful moments were the ones she treasured most.

She is survived by her sister, Linda Shaw (William); her brother, Joe Newcome (Doris); and several nieces and nephews who will remember her gentle spirit and kind heart.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Trickett, with whom she is now reunited.
