Barbara Jo Bolton

Barbara Jo Bolton, 76, of Flemington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She was born on June 2, 1949, in Clarksburg, the beloved daughter of the late Denver and Betty Spencer Wilfong.

Barb was a proud graduate of Flemington High School, Class of 1967. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working as a Certified Dietary Manager for over twenty years, and earlier as a Certified Activity Director for nearly fourteen years. No matter the role, Barb brought compassion, kindness, and a smile that lifted spirits.

She had a gift for making life brighter. Barb loved cooking for her family and friends, always making sure no one ever left her table hungry. She found joy in decorating for the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, creating warmth and memories that her loved ones will cherish forever. Before losing her vision, she enjoyed reading and working word puzzles, and in her younger years, she was a spirited softball player with a passion for sports that never faded. Her heart was full of love, and she poured it into her family, who will carry her memory close every day until they meet again.

Left to treasure her memory are her two children, Karen Lanham and Danny, and Little Joe Bolton; her grandchildren, Whitney and Shawn, Joseph and Tasha, John David, Jacob and Shawna, Elizabeth, Jason, and Jillian; and her great-grandchildren, Tristen, Hayden, Piper, Ivory, Lucca, Aurora and Sabbath. She is also survived by her sisters, Jane Reger, Linda Skidmore, and Peggy Wilfong; and her brothers, Dicky Wilfong, Randy Wilfong, and Mark Wilfong.

In addition to her parents, Barb was welcomed into Heaven by three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law who passed before her.

To honor Barb’s wishes, she will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the Nutter Fort Park Lions Club Pavilion.
