Anna Harriet Griffin (formerly Anna Harriet Wyckoff), age 52, of Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at her home following an extended respiratory illness. She was born in Warren, Ohio, on September 17, 1972, a daughter of the late James and Nila Jean (Smith) Wyckoff. She is survived by her stepfather Tom Workman, and wife Carol, of Grafton.
She is also survived by her two daughters Sarah Griffin and Nila Harris (David), four grandchildren, Aubree, Julian, Kairo, and Na’riya, all of Martinsville, Indiana; four sisters, Nina Wyckoff McMasters (Ronald Phillips) of Fellowsville, Alice Wyckoff of Huntington, Brenda Hawkins (Donnie Riggleman) and brother James Thomas “JT” Wyckoff of Morgantown, and Laura Holcomb (David) of Grafton. She is also survived by several cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and her beloved pet Gracie.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by three sisters, Julia Coon, Christina Shaver, and Rachael Wyckoff, and two brothers, Robert Wyckoff, and James Leroy “Jimmy Lee” Wyckoff.
Anna was a 1991 graduate of Grafton High School. She resided in Indiana for many years to remain near her children and grandchildren. Over the years, she formed an abundance of friendships where she came to know some of the most treasured and valued people in her life. When Anna was younger, she was the life of the party, always ready to share a joke and a mischievous smile with anyone. Although she could be quick-tempered, she was also quick to apologize. She was beautiful, special, funny, wild, resilient, independent, ornery, sassy, thoughtful, and loving. Anna had an incredible sense of humor. She was stubborn and extraordinarily full of life, and this never changed, despite her health struggles. Anna loved to go for nature walks with her dog, cook for her loved ones, and most of all, spend time with her family and friends. She had a vibrant smile, shared a contagious laugh, and had a heart for both children and animals, often taking care of stray cats in the neighborhood. Anna was also a huge fan of musicians like Joan Jett and Tori Amos and could usually be found rocking out or singing karaoke with her friends.
Anna recently returned to West Virginia due to her declining health, but her heart remained in Indiana with her daughters and grandchildren. Her face lit up with pride when speaking about them and she had hoped that her health would improve so that she could reside close to them again. Over the past several months, Anna enjoyed insightful conversations with Rev. Mark Miller about her faith in God. She would want everyone to find comfort in her final rest in eternal peace. Anna was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend to many. She was loved very much and will be missed tremendously.
