Alice Imogene Sylva, 96 of Grafton passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Rosewood Nursing Home. She was born in Grafton on August 1, 1927, daughter of the late Clarence Luther Myers and Dencie June Wolfe Myers.
Imogene worked many years as a seamstress at the Grafton Apparel Manufacturing Co., also known as the shirt factory. She was a giving person and shared her time and love caring for others as a volunteer for the Hospice Care Corporation. Imogene loved the time she spent with her friends and family and made many treasured memories with each of them.
Imogene is survived by one son, Carroll “Pete” Sylva, Jr., nine grandchildren, Christian, Ashley, Christopher, Ricky, Alice Jean “Jeannie”, Jessica “Jessie”, Danny, Amber, Kashia, several great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Imogene is preceded in death by one son, Ricky Sylva, one granddaughter, Megan Sylva Shaw, two sisters, Betty Myers, Alice Myers Sevier, one brother, John Myers.
Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the hour of the funeral at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating.
