Vivian Leigh (Gaines) Sickles

Vivian Leigh Sickles, 51 of Grafton, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Wendel, WV, May 24, 1968, daughter of the late Walter Dale Gaines and is survived by her Mother, Antoinette Jean McAfee Gaines, and her husband, Robert “Bob” Sickles.

She graduated from Grafton High School Class of 1986, and WVU Class of 1993. Vivian taught school at Ridgedale Elementary School Morgantown for several years. She enjoyed traveling, doing crafts, and working with the art council, and loved being with her granddaughters.

Vivian is survived by two sons, Robert “Bobby” Sickles and Amber Morgantown, and Bradley Sickles, Grafton; step-daughter, Amanda Shaffer and husband Jason, Fairmont; two granddaughters, Ryleigh, Adeline and number 3 is on the way; four sisters, Debra Couch, Morgantown, Sheila Felix and husband Michael, Havre de Grace, MD, Becky Bartlett and husband Greg, Julie Royce and husband Chad all of Grafton; two brothers, Glen Gaines and Howard Gaines and wife Krista both of Grafton, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bruce Gaines.
