Sarah Jane Messenger, 87 of Shorewood, IL formerly of Grafton passed away Monday November 6, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, IL.

 

Survived by her grandchildren Anna (Joe) Figueroa, Lisa (Michael) Bye, Jessica (Matthew) Campo, Cassandra (Chad) Wilkins, Derek Messenger; great grandchildren Yehonatan, Nicholas, Celedonio, Caleb, Josef, Landen, Colton, Lucas, Emmalee; countless nieces and nephews; siblings Leonard (Sharon) Lucas, Rosemary (Dwight) Hardman, Betty (late Vance) Burgess; sister-in-law Alice (late Pascal) Lucas; daughter-in-law Elaine (late Charles) Brown.

 

Preceded in death by her husband Wallace Messenger; sons Charles Messenger, Mark Messenger; daughter Pamela Schoolcraft; son-in-law Carl Schoolcraft; brother Pascal Jackie Lucas; sister-in-law Shirley Lucas; brother-in-law Vance Burgess; parents Pascal and Christine (Ford) Lucas. 

 

Sarah, born November 19, 1929 in Independence, West Virginia, met and married the love of her life.  Together they had three children.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by her grandchildren and family.    Sarah will be unbelievably missed.

 

Visitation will be held Saturday November 11, 2017 from 12 noon until time of funeral service at 2:00pm at the Bartlett Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Ford officiating.   Sarah will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
