Richard Paul DeMoss Sr

Richard Paul DeMoss Sr. 86 of Thornton, WV went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born January 11, 1932, in Rowlesburg, a son of the late Elman and Jessie Bucklew DeMoss. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine DeMoss on March 16, 2013.

He worked at the Thornton Brick Yard, City of Grafton, and was a Coal Miner. Richard loved to be outdoors, fishing, hunting and farming. He loved to be with his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Richard is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Alberta Lipscomb and husband Glenn of  Thornton;  one son and daughter-in-law; Richard DeMoss, Jr.  and wife Mariellen, Salem,WV; nine grandchildren; Dekota, Arron and Seth Lipscomb, William Lipscomb, Adara DeMoss, Elania Bennett, Tabiah DeMoss, Wyatt DeMoss, Remington DeMoss, and Kellen DeMoss; four great grandchildren, Damien Lipscomb, Titus Lipscomb, Rayven Lipscomb, and Sophia Lipscomb; one sister; Mildred Markley, Grafton; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Elman DeMoss; three brothers; Ray DeMoss, Noah DeMoss, one sister; Bessie Austin.

Friends may call at the Bartlett Funeral Home on, Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 11:00AM until the hour of the service. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at 1:00pm. February 18, 2018 at the funeral home with Elder, Randall Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Woodsdale Memorial Park.
