Mary F. Moats, 58 of Wickwire Rd, Grafton passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born in Grafton, on July 3, 1960, daughter of the late Alfred Sloan and Mava Eagle, and step-father, Virgil Eagle, Mary is survived by her husband, Herbert Stephen Moats and they were married in 1976.
She owned Mary’s Child Care and each child by the time they left her care to go to school were known as her little ones. She graduated from Grafton High School. She enjoyed camping with her family and friends. Mary loved watching her grandchildren play sports and her greatest joy was being with her family. She was a huge WVU Mountaineer fan.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Kristina Peters and husband Jason, Grafton, Ashley K. Knotts, Morgantown, Mike Moats and wife Amy, Grafton, Mark Moats and wife Cari, Flemington; twelve grandchildren, Savanah, Garrett, Mallorie, Hannah, Tanner, Gabe, Maddie, Jayson, Noah, Jacob, Chloe, and Kaleb; two sisters, Linda Nickerson and husband Charles, Covington, VA, Donna Wagner and husband Ivan, Grafton, five brothers, Joseph C. Munson and wife Linda, Mulltree, OK, Alfred E. Sloan and wife Loretta, Mannington, John T. Sloan, Flemington, Richard A. Sloan and wife Brenda, Knottsville, Terry L. Sloan and wife Ellen Gaithersburg, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Matthew D. Moats; three sisters, Wanda Board, Mae Cumpston, and Sandra Munson.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 2-8PM, and on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 9:00AM. until the funeral hour at 11:00am with Capt.
