Helen Gay Weekley, 88 of Grafton, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Atlantic General Hospital, Berlin, Maryland. She was born in Elkins, WV June 6, 1929, a daughter of the late William and Zelma Gall Henning. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Weekley, January 14, 2017.
She was a member of the Blueville United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, Church Choir and she would volunteer where needed. Helen was the Queen Mum of the Red Hat Society of Grafton. She was active with the Singing Seniors in Grafton. She belonged to the B&O Auxiliary, VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Helen retired as a LPN for Meridian Nursing Home in Severna Park, MD. Dawn is writing the book, MaMa and Me. A love story dedicated to her loving and caring mother.
Helen is survived by three children, Dawn Butler, Ocean City, MD, Butch Stubblefield, Alexandria, VA, and James Biddix, Carbondale, CO; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Adele Day.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. Grafton, on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 11:00AM until the Celebration of Her Life Service at 1:00PM with Rev. Sue Lowther; to Helen she was an adopted daughter officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
