Genevieve Lee (Stafford) McPherson

Genevieve Lee McPherson, 84 of Grafton, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Grafton City Hospital surrounded by her loving children. She was born November 4, 1934 in Monongah, WV, daughter of the late Charles and Mildred Stone Stafford. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth McPherson on October 17, 1994 and they had forty wonderful years together.

She was a charter member of the Blueville Church of the Nazarene. Genevieve was a coal miner’s daughter from Carolina, WV. She enjoyed making ceramics, quilting, and being with her family.  She will be missed by many but heaven gained a Prayer Warrior.

Genevieve is survived by three children, Cheryl Summers and husband Paul Grafton, Christine McPherson, Morgantown, and Michael McPherson, Grafton; four grandchildren, Paul Summers, Jr, Joey Summers, Brittany Lipscomb, Katina Newlon; six great grandchildren, Regan, Caroline, Nymeria, Romerra, Averian, Zarian; three sisters, Marion Pirkheim, Hazel Frost, Sandra Ashcraft,

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Zaylee; one sister, Virginia Stafford; two brothers, Charles Stafford, and Marvin Stafford.

Friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. Grafton on Monday, July 8, 2019 from 2-8PM and on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 9:00 AM until the funeral at 11:00AM with Pastor Jeff Haught officiating.
