Frederica “Elaine” Whitescarver Brown, 79 of Grafton passed away at United Hospital Center on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, with her loving family by her side. She was born July 16, 1939, in Grafton to the late William and Beulah Lambert Whitescarver.
Elaine was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church, where she was Church Treasurer for over thirty years, was a Sunday School Teacher, and choir member. She graduated from Grafton High School. Her hobbies were going camping at Big Bear, making cards, crocheting, and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by three children, Kimberly E. Tennant and husband Jimmie, Metz, WV, Monica Robinson and husband Doug, Grafton, and Donald F. Brown and wife Tracy, Barrackville; three grandchildren, Debra Tennant, Amber Tennant, and Corey Robinson; three great grandchildren, Gaven Tennant and fiancé Destiny Smith, Cloman Tennant, and Ruby Tennant; two sisters, Frankie Devart, Grafton, Lou Prunty, Indianapolis, IN; two brothers, Bill Whitescarver and wife Cheryl, Garry Whitescarver and wife Lynne, both of Grafton; sister-in-law, Pat Whitescarver, Barrrickville, several niece and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Brown in 2015; one brother, Dick Whitescarver; two brother-in-laws, Mortimer Prunty, and Rob Devart. Friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 1-7 PM and on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 12:00 NOON until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM with Pastor David Bess and Pastor Jonathan Minear officiating.
