Erma May Riley, 91 of Grafton, passed away at the Taylor Health Care Center, Grafton on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 surrounded by her devoted family. She was born January 22, 1927 in Norton, WV, daughter of the late Salem and Sturcha Shoemaker Wilt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Beryl E. Riley, Sr. on August 27, 2004.
She belonged to the Salvation Army since 1951. Erma retired from Grafton City Hospital with twenty three years of service. She sang with the Gospel Express for over thirty years and belonged to the VFW Ladies Aux., Hospital Aux. Erma also worked at the Taylor County EMS.
Erma is survived by four children, Terry Riley, Melbourne, FL, Eugene Riley and wife Connie , Phyllis Shaffer and husband Arnold, Stanley Riley and wife Mary all of Grafton; nine grandchildren, Lorna Ray, Jackie Geld, Terry Jackson Riley, Jr, Jeramine Riley, Shanalyn Lemley and husband Tony, Brian Shaffer, Arnold Shaffer lll and wife Michelle, Stanley Riley, Jr. and wife Nicole, Stephanie Wilson; fifteen great grandchildren, Destiny Ray, Bella Ray, Christian Lantz, Andrew Garner and wife Corrine, Terry Jackson Riley, lll, Tasha Flynn, Jessica Lemley, Gina Shaffer, Brooklyn Shaffer, Madilyn Shaffer, Matthew Keener, Cloe Riley, Wes Riley, Olivia Riley and Chimaira Daniel; one great great grandson, Atlas Lawrence; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Pyles and Naomi Devers; three brothers, Harry Wilt, Luther Wilt, Salem Wilt Jr.
Friends may call at the Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 1-7PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Bartlett Funeral Home, with Lay Minister Jimmy Arnold and Rev.
