Charles Ray Martin Sr

Charles Ray Martin, Sr, 70 of Grafton passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital with his loving family was by his side. He was born in Grafton, April 17, 1947, son of the late Elijah "June" and Gladys Poling Martin. Charlie is survived by his wife Joyce Taylor Martin, they were united in marriage, May 8, 1972.
Charlie worked for the City of Grafton for 25 years, He was a heavy equipment driver and he could drive anything that the city had from street sweeper on up. He loved to hunt, fish, and especially loved to go camping with his grandchildren. Charlie played in a Country Music Band.
He is survived by two children, Charles R. Martin, Jr. and Fiancé Ruth Walter and Joyce Weber and husband Robert, all of Grafton; nine grandchildren, Justin Myers, Angele Weber, DeAnna Weber, Jeremy Irvine, Breanna Martin, Brian Johnson, Sean Davis, Isaac Davis, Makayla Walter; seven great grandchildren, Troy, Cloie, Hunter, Noah, Carmen, Robbie, Lilly; six brothers, Clark Martin, Fairmont, Jimmy Martin, Bridgeport, Clyde Martin and wife Debbie, VA, Joe Martin and wife Terri, Clarksburg, David Martin and wife Diane, OH, Jay Martin, Grafton; two sisters, Marie Martin, Masontown, Susie Abel and husband George, Fairmont, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, Tray Stemple; four brothers, Richard Martin, Clarence Martin, Robert Martin, Ronald Martin; and one sister, Katherine Rosier.
Friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home 202 McGraw Ave. Grafton, on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 2-8PM and on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 9:00AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeff Haught officiating.
