Charles Isner Obituary

Charles Richard (Rich) Isner Jr, 80 of Grafton passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his residence with friend Debbie George by his side. He was born in Grafton, May 3, 1938, a son of the late Charles Richard Isner, Sr. and Emma Mamie Ware Isner.

Rich was a 1956 graduate of Grafton High School. He served in the US. Army Reserves. In 1960 he married Susan Mick with whom he  had six children. During his life he worked at various places  including the B&O, 4 Corners, VFW, and was owner of Thorn Berries and Nu-Way Shoe Repair. He married his second wife, Janet Hodges in 1973  with whom he helped raise five step-children. Rich loved his family, WV Mountaineers, and going fishing at Upper Track in Petersburg,WV.

He is survived by five children; Kim Isner Dickey and husband Bruce, Charlotte, NC, Kevin Isner and friend Cindy Wyckoff, Flemington, Patti Isner Page, Charlotte, NC., Cindy Isner Dean and husband Daniel, Albemarle, NC., Judi Isner Parks and friend Randy Ballentine, Mooresville, NC., five step-children, J.T. Hodges and wife Patty, Morgantown, Jeff Hodges, Tennessee, Jenny (Hodges) Flesher and husband Larry, Grafton, Jill (Hodges) Sturm and husband Tom, Grafton, Shella (Hodges) Gilbert and husband Lew, Summersville, friend Debbie George and son Nick George and wife Victoria, Clarksburg, one sister, Rebecca A. (Isner) Willis and husband Michael, Grafton, two cousins, Fred Isner and wife Donna, Clarksburg, Michael Hulley and wife Marlene, Grafton, one aunt, Virginia (Isner) Hulley, Grafton, two sisters-in-law, Sherry (Simmons) Isner and Sheryl (Jenkins) Isner, both of Grafton, twenty two  grandchildren, and twenty three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Kenny Isner, three brothers, Jim Paul, and John Isner.
