John Dee Shaw

John  Dee Shaw, 77, of Meadland Community, passed away at United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, on Thursday, March 28,2024, with his wife and son by his side. He was born July 14, 1946 in Fairmont, son of the late Harold J. and Genevieve Friel Shaw, John is survived by his wife Deborah Ashby Shaw, whom he married October 9, 1971, spending more than fifty-two years together.

John worked at Sears and Roebuck for thirty five plus years enjoyed hunting and fishing, planting his garden, and his greatest joy was being with his family and especially his grandchildren; he was the best Dad and grandpa ever, never met a stranger, and enjoyed life to the fullest. To know him was to love him.

John is survived by one son, Jarod Shaw (Bryn), Morgantown, two grandchildren, Charlotte Shaw and Brooks Dee Shaw, one Uncle, Kerth Friel (Nancy), two cousins, David and John Friel, both of Marlinton,  two brothers-in-law, David Ashby (Joyce), Cross Lanes; Gary Ashby (Margaret) Summerville; nieces and nephews, Jerry Ashby (Rachael) Clarksburg, Terri Moss (Terry) ,Weston;  Matthew Ashby, Charleston; Adrianne Ashby, Charleston; Alex Ashby, Summerville; Leigh Sisson (Mike) Canvas; and several more great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by cousins, James and Norma Robinson, and one brother-in-law, Mark Ashby.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the hour of the funeral with Pastor Bert Coffman officiating, Inurment will be held at a later date at the Mt.
