Betty Lee Shaffer

Betty Lee Shaffer, 91 of Grafton, passed away at United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, on Monday, April 1, 2024, with her family by her side.  She was born August 17, 1932 in Flemington, daughter of the late Archie Glen and Evelyn Thompson Lipscomb. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Howard Shaffer in 1987.

Betty worked many years at Grafton Apparel Manufacturing Co. (Shirt Factory). She enjoyed being out and about shopping and visiting with her friends. Betty liked watching old movies on television, working in her flowers and reading a good book. She truly enjoyed the time she spent with her friends and family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Betty is survived by six children, Arnold H. Shaffer Jr. (Phyllis), Glen F. Shaffer, Jeanie Swiger (Chuck),

Patty Thorn (Alvie), Betty Knight (Kevin), and Robert E. Shaffer (Tracy), all of Grafton; ten grandchildren Brian Shaffer, Arnold H. Shaffer Ill, Christopher Shaffer, Chuck Swiger, Misty Swiger, Arnold Swiger,

Miranda Riffle, Marissa Fleming, Jim Shackelford, and Zach Knight; thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Betty is preceded in by one grandson, Glen Shaffer Jr.; one brothers, Dorsey Lipscomb; two sisters, Georgie Lipscomb, and Edith Moats; one niece, Diane Seville.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. and on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 9:00AM until the time of the funeral at 11:00AM. with Pastor Mike Delligatti officiating.
